As my shooting with polaroid is growing I'm finding images that people have removed the emulsion from the frame and such it onto thing so i wanted to try with the help of my house mate with delicate hands and nails.
what you have to so is:
- cut around the image to remove the frame
- Put boiling water in a tub (bigger enough to fit the object you want to attach emulation to)
- live in boiling water for around 1 minute
- peel away the back from the polaroid (its the dark part)
- in the boiling water clean the white from the back of the image
- put back in the water for 30 seconds - 1 minute the emulation will then slide off the clear plastic in the front
- next put the polaroid into the water to open it up anger get it in position (can be very temperamental)
- side the object you want to transfer under the emulsion, once in position carefully pull out of the water holding the emulsion in place
- if the emulsion have moved with wet hand while emulsion is wet move pack in place i would recommend using a clean paintbrush.
