Hahnemühle Paper

This book is how I found out I wasn't able to get the Rice paper in A3 or 17" inch roll! The booklet is helpful for paper specifications

Kept these swatches if I ever need to look for more paper I can get an idea where to start with Hahnemühles wide range, I want to stay with Awagami and get endorsement from Awagami.

Messed up print from slack editing

One thing printing my portfolio has show me is, printing  will highlight mistakes, thats unknown at the time. The printers at uni Epson Stylus Pro 4900 prints at 2880dpi which allows you to add more ink on the paper and squeeze out more detail.
The image below had a bad mask in photoshop when I lightened the background, I didn't realise this till I printed as soon on this section started to be in view I noticed it and then noticed it on the digital files and then Storehoues Magazine, I was so mad at myself.

You can see on the left of the subject and extensively to the right of her head on shoulders to her right are grey patches where to whitening mask hasn't been very neat

You can just about see it on the image above but it will take 5 minutes to tidy up.

Much Better!

Chosen exhibition images

These are my exhibition images, talking to creative directors my other images are more editorial and that the images from Japan should be exhibited because people will want to see them!

Exhibition framing

The images I'm going to be exhibiting are of Tokyo below
It show my love for Japan and my work that I'v gone there to photograph and made me want to do anything I can to live there (also looks good on the uni and course ;) ).

I started looking at the images being exhibited via a light box I saw 1 or 2 at last years degree show but they looked very cheap and were A4 or less. I'm looking at printing at the size of A3 or A2, I have 5 sheets of Bamboo paper left which is A3+ but the images should be bigger so I'm going to print A2 photo rag duo as I have been told you don't see the texture of the paper as much when the glass is mounted on top.

'Twilight', White Cube, London - Gregory Crewdson - - 15846

I prefer having black frames the colours stand out more that important for my images. Gregory Crewdons for instance is one of many photographers who has framed their images with black frames, I find myself looking at the images not having a distracting white border.

We have been told to hang the work in a specific way using a particular hangers I believe they're flush mounts which would be £1-3, they wont be hard to put on the back of my frames.
I'm looking at A2 frames, I just need to confirm with a technician that the print will do A2 exactly.

Promo

Ordered Business cards and Postcards from Moo as I have previously ordered from them before, I plan the postcards at the exhibitions and keep the business cards out and keep some on me to give out while networking.

My promo package to send to industry photographers, retouchers and agencies contains: CV, Postcards, business card, booklet. Also a digital PDF portfolio.

Postcards
Business Cards
Booklet
CV

Other work documents includes, model release, invoice, letter head, contract for photographic service.

I also have my website that is not being updated more regularly unlike previous when I'd touch once a month, Now I have added all portraits to date and Tokyo night images, I have recently add a retouching section with a couple of images showing the before and after which I need to add to with portraits of smoothing skin ect.
My Instagram is more personal, as I develop people liking my work there I show who I am as a person and less a photographer like professional photographer Hayley Louisa Brown and Nadia Lee Cohen.

Reflective Journal Is A Mess

My reflective journal has no order to it this time, its a mess and I have added stuff as I remembered them this will be down to my dyslexia affecting me.
I have decided on paper to print my portfolio ages ago but posted test prints on different paper recently, It's not a bad thing that I have done this it shows I have been looking at different paper types but I would be nice to have some sort of order.
one thing I have been finding an issue is I cant remember I have posted some things like Hahnemühle paper samples cant remember if I have posted them and when I look back I'm not sure what post they would be under, Its the first time I feel affected this way and it's really bothering me and making me not confident in my uni work escpecially reflective journal

Luster Paper

When I wasn't too much into what paper to print on I did a couple of test prints on Luster paper at the portfolio size. The first image I did was a portrait in the arcade I wanted to test how the colour came out which was the same as the computer. The bottom three the first the image came out too dark so I lighten it slightly in photoshop to compensate for the darkness, then when printed that its was a bit to light I needed to get the middle of them once I did and printed it cane out spot on.
Im glad I printed my Portfolio on Bamboo paper if I didn't listen to the Metro guy when he said not to I would have been set months ago.
